Rachel's List Christmas Gift Guide 2015

It’s that time again – our annual gift guide for creative people! (You can find our previous gift guides here and here). This year, we’ve stumbled on some great stuff, including funny t-shirts for editors and subs, pillows for your office chair, gadgets and gear to make your work life easier – and a whole range of ‘exposure’ mugs and paraphernalia Leo has been working on with a designer –  a great gift for a colleague or pal who’s always being asked to work for free. The mug is already on its way to my desk (a little Christmas present to myself!). Happy shopping…

RL xmas gift guide 2015

1. People Die Of Exposure Pay Me mug. Leo’s meltdown over clients taking advantage has resulted in some great designs we’re offering through Red Bubble. This is one of them, but there are more – and you can get them on a t-shirt, mug, laptop bag, tote – whatever you like. Mug, $17.18, from RedBubble.

2. Editor Freaking Miracle Worker t-shirt. Sure to make even the crankiest editor crack a smile. $22.99 USD From Sunfrog Shirts. We also love this ‘Body copy’ t-shirt, for the sub who has everything, $42.84 from BZA Co

3. So Many Books So Little Time book ends. For someone who’s always complaining they never have time to read! $53.99 USD, from Animi Causa

4. Suitcase record player. Like it old school? This cool record player comes in its own briefcase and has built-in speakers. $199, from Rockit Record Players

5. Felt wool slippers. Okay, so not exactly a summer item… or a budget item… but when the weather gets cooler I’d want these babies living under my desk. $173 AUD, from FeltWoolSlippers on Etsy.

6. Custom book plate stamp Any book lover will adore this personalised ‘from the library of…’ gift. $50.32 AUD from PaperSushiShop on Etsy

7. Milo the Gorilla paperweight. Or bookend. Whatever you use him for, he’ll add character to any house. $89.95, from Zanui.

8. First Aid Chocolate Box. Because every home office needs a good first aid kit for times of trouble, crisis, writer’s block. $90, from Red Balloon.

9. Multi-device Charging Station and Dock. I’m a sucker for anything that puts an end to tangled cords and devices cluttering up the desk. $34.99 USD from Great Useful Stuff.

10. Scratch And Scroll Mousepad A genuis idea for when you need to jot something down quickly and can’t find a post-it note. $49.95, from Fishpond.

11. Felt organiser tray The perfect tray for your phone, keys and spare change and a beautiful addition to any home office. $40.88 AUD from feltplanet on Etsy.

12. Moroccan leather pouf. I’d be lost without the footstool under my desk, but I think I like this better. Plus, it would double as extra seating. $149 AUD, from Cush and Co.

13. Plywood crate Office storage on wheels! Dump your files and laptop in it and roll it wherever you want to work. $155, from Little Red Industries on Etsy.

14. Once Upon A Time… pillow A bit of a whimsical gift for an author’s office chair, maybe? $51.14 AUD from the IDefineMeProject on Etsy

15. Gepetto’s pencil sharpener A good lead pencil is a must for any office, and this cute stocking stuffer will keep ’em sharp. $14.99 USD, from Ainimi Causa

16. I Eat Art For Breakfast bag For the artist in your life. $24.11 AUD from the Pamela Barskey shop on Etsy.  We’re also a bit partial to the Don’t Steal My Ideas pouch, $29.22, from the same Etsy store,
