Description

Whether you’re writing for magazines, producing content for a client or publishing your own blog, it’s never been more important to be your own sub-editor. And in this mini masterclass, our expert speaker is Carrie Hutchinson, editor and head of content at Grin Creative. Carrie covers:

  1. Why editing skills are so important for writers (especially now)
  2. The need to step away from your own story (and strategies to do this)
  3. Be a basic b&^%$ (getting spelling and grammar right)
  4. Check yourself before you wreck yourself (the importance of fact-checking and how to do it)
  5. The full package (doing a final read and what to look for).

Great, practical advice that was easy to follow and apply. And Carrie also shared a very useful list of resources that I know I will be referring to from now on. Excellent tips. Everything you want from a workshop really. Thank you.

Terrific refresher for word and grammar nerds who love nothing better than parsing a sentence and a great intro to it for any writer who doesn’t even know what that means.
